Selangor Properties' story is a remarkable achievement spanning two generations of the Wen family, who took the company from humble beginnings to its current position as a highly respected property development and investment corporation.

Chong Chook Yew (the daughter of a Malayan immigrant tin miner) and Wen Tien Kuang (from Guangdong province in China) secured financing in 1954 to acquire 1,000 acres of rubber estate located on the outskirts of the capital, Kuala Lumpur. They quickly devised a five-phase master plan for the rubber plantation land, naming it "Damansara Heights" after the nearby Damansara River. Capital was required to develop the land, so Selangor Properties Berhad, a publicly listed company, was formed.

Selangor Properties has built a reputation based on a portfolio of developments that speak of architectural leadership, quality of construction, longevity, and social relevance. This can be seen in well-known developments such as Menara Millenium, Plaza Batai, The Five, Taman Tunku Stories, and now, AIRA Residence.
